Is the IRS the ultimate bureaucratic dinosaur? And could Elon Musk really launch it into orbit? Let’s dig in…
You know the IRS—the friendly government office that speaks in ancient code, uses technology from when Pac-Man was cool, and sends letters scarier than a campfire ghost story. The new administration coming in January 2025 says they’re about to Marie Kondo the place and finally toss out decades of bureaucratic “junk.” Could Elon Musk be the guy to help them hit the reset button?
Well, stranger things have happened. He did send a car into space, after all.
Imagine you gave a 5-year-old a crayon and said, "Draw me a house." Then you hand that masterpiece to a contractor and shout, "Build this. Exactly this. And good luck interpreting it."
That’s what Congress does to the IRS. The result? Confusion, compliance nightmares, and a tax system held together with duct tape and prayers. Now, add 1980s computer programs into the mix, and you’ve got the technological equivalent of trying to stream Netflix on a VCR.
The real kicker? Everyone’s trying to play by the rules, but no one’s sure what the rules even mean. The IRS itself often seems unsure. And when “efficiency” gets thrown around as the big fix, it’s worth asking: efficient at what, exactly? You can be the world’s fastest buggy whip producer, but it doesn’t matter if we’re all driving Teslas.
The IRS knows they’re stuck. They’re like a deer in headlights—paralyzed by fear of cybersecurity risks, privacy concerns, and “analysis paralysis.” Instead of upgrading to modern systems, they just… sit there. Meanwhile, small business owners like campground operators are left scratching their heads, wondering how to play by the rules when the rules don’t even make sense.
The truth is, this isn’t about “catching cheaters.” It’s about missing the low-hanging fruit that would make life easier for everyone—if only someone would hit “refresh” on the whole system.
While the IRS struggles to modernize, you don’t have to. This is where Campground Accounting comes in. For entrepreneurs, legacy-builders, and stewards of family businesses, we’re here to cut through the noise, simplify your systems, and give you back the time (and sanity) you need to press play on bigger ideas.
Because let’s face it—there’s more to life than wrestling with tax deadlines, and there’s more to taxes than just filing on time. Donna and her team have a progressive perspective: what if accounting wasn’t just a box you check but a tool you use to breathe life into your campground ownership? A tool to seize opportunities, not just avoid surprises.
Let’s get a little crazy for a minute: What if the IRS didn’t exist at all? What if we hit pause on taxes for three years (wild, right?), rebuilt the entire system from the ground up, and came back with something that actually works? Sure, it sounds outlandish. But if anyone’s bold enough to toss out the old rulebook and write a new one, it’s Elon.
He’s disrupted cars, rockets, and energy—what’s one more outdated system?
Let’s be real: this isn’t just about the IRS. It’s about modernizing how our government operates, moving past buggy whips and manual processes, and breathing life back into businesses that are bogged down by red tape.
Would scrapping the IRS and replacing it with an alternative system work? Who knows. But here’s what we do know: the current way isn’t cutting it. It’s time for bold moves and forward-thinking solutions.

Creativity and CPAs don’t generally go together. Most people think of CPAs as nerdy accountants who can’t talk with people. Well, it’s time to break that stereotype. Lively, friendly, and knowledgeable can be a part of your relationship with your CPA, as demonstrated by Donna and Chad Bordeaux. They have over 50 years of combined experience as entrepreneurial CPAs. They’ve owned businesses and helped business owners exceed their wildest dreams. They have been able to help businesses earn many times more profit than the average business in the same industry and are passionate about helping industries that help families build great memories.
