Hi there. I’m Donna Bordeaux with CampgroundAccounting.com.
I wanted it to come to you today with a cool idea! I don’t know how many of you saw it, but the campground of the future was a design that was created by KOA and they wanted to showcase some new ideas of what a campground might look like in the future. Well, I’m here to tell you one of those ideas that I found pretty intriguing was a DeliveryBot. KOA talked about having a DeliveryBot that would deliver firewood and other supplies right to your campsite. They referenced Amazon and FedEx and how they’re using these in their thought processes right now to get ready to deliver packages to you.

Well, they got me thinking. I camp all around the country and one of the common things everybody does on their first day is to go to the camp store to go get their firewood. Maybe they go to Walmart or other stores in town and stop in and grab supplies and some wood for their evening fires. What if you had a DeliveryBot today? What if your DeliveryBot was as simple as driving the old golf cart or the ATV around with some firewood on the back. Maybe you could start around four or five o’clock in the afternoon and drive through the campground selling firewood. How hard could that be? If you had a pickup truck, you could really load it up and deliver to a lot of campsites. There are many other common items that could be added to the list. Popular necessities at campsites are toilet paper or that ever-popular smores kit! How about some ice cream, popsicles, drumsticks, or cold beverages? Use your imagination and make a list of what you can deliver.

And this does not need to be an emergency delivery where you would be required to drop everything right away. You could ask people if they would like delivery during the day between the hours of two and four o’clock for supplies. Another option is to let people call in or text you throughout the day for firewood and other supplies delivered to their site that night. You may even let people pre-order all their supplies for delivery. That would be a great convenience for campers.

Summer is almost here and the campgrounds will be full soon. So, make sure that you take full advantage of what a DeliveryBot can do for you. You don’t have to wait for technology to catch up and have an expensive piece of technology. Use the idea and put that to work for you today. Try to help out with the experience for your customers by making a delivery a simple thing that’s nice and easy. That’s a great way to increase your customer experience and also increase your sales.
