Hi folks, I’m Donna Bordeaux with CampgroundAccounting.com I am a CPA and our firm is an industry specialist that works just with campgrounds and RV parks. I want to take a moment to give you an insight into some benefits you can take advantage of if you are a member of ARVC.

If you are a member of your state organization, you’re probably also a member of ARVC and if you’re a member of ARVC directly, you can take advantage of this benefit. There is a school for teaching you skills to be a campground owner or manager, different levels are available. That school happens twice a year, there’s an eastern and a western campus. The eastern is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, not too far from me and the Western campus occurs in July in Denver, Colorado.

Now upcoming you can apply for scholarships to attend the ``school for free. You can apply through the ARVC website and I’m going to include a link just down below here in my article so you can apply right there, but this is not necessarily just need based.

It is focused on helping smaller campgrounds that may have an unaffordable event to be able to send somebody to the school for a few days. It’s a two year program so you would go in the first year and then you’d do the other program a second year later. If you would like to attend but have some financial constraints or some other issues you can apply for the scholarship. It doesn’t have to be need based, it does focus, like I said, on smaller campgrounds that may not be able to afford to send someone to the school.

But, you’re going to need to fill out the application if you are not an owner of a campground. Then you’ll have the owner write you a recommendation to send in with your application. And if you are an owner, please do apply. There’s some fabulous information to be earned. Chad, my husband, also attended the class and graduated this past year in his second year and there was a ton of valuable information.

No matter if you are a new owner, operator, manager, or if you’ve been at this for years, you will learn some new things and those golden nuggets can take you a long way.
